Bikeability [formerly known as National Standards] Cycle Training is for anyone from 5 to 78, on a 1:1 or as part of a group, the choice is yours., or have today's traffic volumes and roads have changed so much that you feel intimidated .. so please get in touch, it only takes one call to get the ball rolling.  We now offer Instructor Training in conjunction with Cycle Experience for any cycling enthusiasts as well, in addition to Bikeability cycle training!  The instructors of the SW are also working together so that we can give you, exactly what you are looking for .. golooksee our Bespoke Activities page

If training had been more widely available in 2004, perhaps a young man would still be with us.  Gradually we are reaching more children across the county.  Also I work in partnership with Cycle Experience as an Instructor Trainer., so called as a result of Nick and Phil's life long friendship and experience as cyclists.  I'm part of a team based in the SW able to mentor and/or train up wanabee instructors running National Standard Instructor courses, local to our clients in addition to offering Bikeability cycle training.  We very simply come to you, not you to us ..

In the spring of 2008, Bikeability celebrated it's first anniversary and is now celebrating it's second in 2009.
More recently teaching aids have been developed and are now available from the Bikeability website where teachers can get help and advice about introducing cycling into their schools in the first instance and/or find downloadable teaching resources to raise awareness in the classroom as well as being able to apply for a F R E E 'Get cycling to school' pack (just click on the link)  More seasoned cyclists (especially here in Cornwall) have not only taken to using their bikes more frequently but are now training as instructors themselves.  Furthermore, for the second consecutive year the Youth Sports Trust have also given the county another grant for the children in Years 5 & 6.

NEWS:

We are currently working all over the county working with the Schools Sports Partnerships, as well as with Devon on the fringes of Dartmoor.  We are also involved in projects such as Plymouth's BikeLinks and are hoping to set up our own Wheels for All centre here in Cornwall.   We will also be present at the Cornwall Festival of Cycling road shows so that anyone attending, can meet the local instructors although we are not part of the event as such (Bike Right have bought their own instructors down from Manchester).  However when they go back, we will still be here ...

"It's not so much a question of "can you afford to"  but more a question of  "can you afford not to ?"  We all have choices, what is best for your family though?  Just think about it for a moment., you can't put a price on a child's life but you can make a real difference!  One child has died already, so please help us to help them so there are no more tragedies like the one involving Antony.
