ROAD SAFETY & CYCLE TRAINING

If you buy books etc. through Amazon via the links on this and the SW Instructors' websites, then the commission paid for the
advertising space will go towards the 'Kernow Wheels 4 All' facility .. So please help us to help others., the specialised bikes that we
need are expensive and need to be maintained to a high standard!!
Otherwise if you just wish to donate, please do so via the JustGiving site set up
for just that purpose and means the money goes directly to the charity, where it is then held until sufficient funds are available to purchase a bike.

And if you missed the interview on BBC Radio Cornwall on Thursday 19th August, click on the link and fast forward approx. 85 minutes .. you have until
the morning of 26th August to listen to it again before it is replaced although if you don't already have BBC iPlayer, you will need to download it.

Bikeability [formerly known as National Standards] Cycle Training is for anyone from 5 to 78, on a 1:1 or as part of a group the choice is yours., or have today's traffic volumes and roads have changed so much that you feel intimidated?  Please do get in touch, it only takes one call to get the ball rolling and nothing is insurmountable.  We now also offer Instructor Training in conjunction with Cycle Experience for any cycling enthusiasts as well, in addition to Bikeability cycle training and 'Go Ride' sessions!

Futuristically, we also hope to be able to offer cycling for anyone without exception once we have the facilities in place, including people who are deaf and blind but that may be a couple of years away yet.  However there is now one qualified 'Wheels for All' ride leader under Cycling Project's auspices so perhaps not! We also hope to offer track coaching facilities - next all Cornwall needs is a velodrome .. watch this space, miracles can happen!

Meanwhile Wendy has now qualified as a 'Wheels for All' Ride leader, bringing disabled cycling one step closer to reality and is working on funding and getting others trained up as well.  Click on this button if you wish to contribute toward the cost of the bicycles for the Kernow Wheels 4 All facilitiy .. or get in touch if this is something that you would like to be involved in as a volunteer!

The week we left for RTP's Brussels to London ride, the 15 year old son of a former athlete who was part of the 1980s Olympic and Commonwealth Cycling Squad, died in his sleep.  His father is an amazing coach and taught me everything I know about the competitive side of cycling.  On Sunday 12th September, the 'Lewis Barry Memorial Ride' will be held, going from Manchester to Leeds .. Mark has asked me to promote the event .. if you would like to take part, please go to http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=135538236466016

"It's not so much a question of "can you afford to"  but more a question of  "can you afford not to ?"  We all have choices, what is best for your family though?  Just think about it for a moment., you can't put a price on a child's life but you can make a real difference!  One child has died already, so please help us to help them so there are no more tragedies like the one involving Antony.
