    CTC Cornwall Group Inaugural Meeting

A meeting was held on 2nd March 2008 and a local CTC group in Cornwall was formed. If you live in Cornwall and are a CTC member, you are automatically a member of this group.  Information about rides etc. is published at http://www.ctccornwall.org.uk

FOR UP-TO-DATE LISTS on road, go to
    http://www.ctccornwall.org.uk/rides.php

FOR UP-TO-DATE EXTREME RIDES off road*, go to
    http://www.cornwallmtb.kk5.org/#/meetsheet/4527215780

*Both are free if you are a CTC member however for the MTB rides, if you are not a member, because of insurance issues, you may have 4 rides free but then must either join the CTC to be covered by their insurance or  pay a fee of £15 p.a. to become a member and be covered that way.  There are age restrictions for the off road rides though, unless accompanied by an adult, again for the obvious reasons!

    CTC's annual women's rides 2009
[usually the weekend before Bike Week so probably 6-7th June]

Mums and their kiddiwinks ..          Fearful ladies having lapsed perhaps ..          Complete novices are invited as well ..

All are welcome on the free guided rides lead by qualified cycling instructors, to the new National Standards for Cycling.  The rides will be listed on the CTC website but this year, hopefully there will be more choice in different locations around the county.  With other female instructors such as Karen Westbrook and Penny Allen coming on board, collectively we should be able to offer more options which depending on where you live, might hopefully encourage a few more people to get back onto their bikes along the Plymbridge Trail as well as the old favourite, the Camel Trail and new trails which are part of the Mineral Tramways Heritage Project being built that link in with the Coast to Coast Trail.

If it's successful, then perhaps we can set up some regular 'Sun, Sea and Cycling' rides .. coffee, a healthy snack and cycling lessons for the less confident and having some fun in the process., isn't that what life is about occasionally??  Let me know what you think and we'll look into doing something about it., contact me at w.creed@rsct.org.uk Save £'s on petrol. loose lbs pounds in weight and gain the energy and fitness levels of someone 10 years younger whilst having a great time as well!!  If you want to bring a picnic, let's stop along the way and make a day of it instead??  Life is for living after all .. the choice is yours, tell me what you want and we'll sort it out, simple as that!
