ROAD SAFETY & CYCLE TRAINING
Our e2e - the ultimate in Level 3 Bikeability!!

Home Up

The End to End is the ultimate  in cycle training and Bikeability Level 3 - it requires careful route planning and advanced cycling skills to be able to cope with all road conditions over the 900 - 1000 mile route depending on which way one chooses to go.  On top of that there are the support crew and their vehicles and overnight stops and it all costs money even though we are doing it as economically as possible by going the youth hostel route so for that reason, we have approached some local businesses and this page will reflect those companies who chosen to support us .......

Paul and Jules who constitute Mackerelbus Design, I've known since we were all setting up our respective businesses ........ they do all my art work, car magnets etc. and now they have done us proud with the E2E team shirts .......... Jules actually designed the E2E logo for Patch and he has two tie dye t-shirts with it on and says they are a great conversation piece.

Cycle Experience are roving Instructor Training Providers whom I'll be working with when I've qualified as an Instructor Trainer in the not too distant future.  Finally I might get around to training up friends who are Assistant Instructors in waiting!!  Both Phil and Nick have cycled an awful lot of miles as the result of a 25 year friendship.  This is why Cycle Experience emerged, putting their years of experience to good use and are supportive of us now.

We are very equally grateful to companies like Wards - when I teach Level 3 locally,  we use the two roundabouts nearby so are on good nodding terms.  With both Ian and Paul as parents themselves, they appreciate our professional goal and plan A is to return the compliment, working with their children to keep them safe when we get back.  Without their support, we'd be sleeping in the van all the way down as well as pushing it!!  Thank you so much ...

Like Urban Glow ... Steve is also an instructor in my home town of Dorchester.  The idea was born because teenagers especially and 'hi vis' generally don't tend to go in the same sentence, so he came up with his own range of 'hi vis' goodies, to encourage them to do so.  What we will be wearing, is a proto type that was made up specially for us so instead of yellow, think blue!!   Oh and if you go to his webby, you will see that Euan McGregor and Josie Dew also endorses them so we are in good company!

I met Hot Pursuit through Andrew H. when we worked together in Dartington.  It is his local bike shop run by Chris and Pete and they are Giant dealers - medically speaking, I am only allowed to do the ride so long as I use an electric assisted bike and only do a max. of 50 miles per day. Hot Pursuit have been brilliant and come to the rescue so now I will be using a Giant Twist 2 for the duration ...

Thanks to Richard at Pure Blue one thing is sure, we won't become dehydrated ... he is also giving us the sports bottles for ease of drinking on the move.  And there is more ~ do you want to go on a Pure Blue Water Sport Adventure Package which is the ultimate waters ports experience: surfing, sailing, kite-surfing, diving, windsurfing, sailing and more all packed into one holiday?  Click on the link and golooksee!

To date, we have also been offered help and support by both BIKE-EYE have very generously given us their new design of mirror so we can see what is coming behind us as we ride and stay safe.   Due to the nature of the design, although it isn't suitable for all bikes, such as those with panniers or other design variations to the norm. they will fit most because of the flexible ties that attach them to the frame

https://www.pills2u.co.uk/Custom/Images/logo.gifPILLS 2U have a very good range of Pro-Sport Sport support bandages and given we are a couple of golden oldies, we're not taking any chances.  The company/practise itself consists of qualified and experienced registered Pharmacists and an English trained GP.  All pharmacies in Great Britain, including those providing internet services, must register with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

Ultra Magic Balloons, run by Tim and Hilary Revel based in Bucks, are hoping to come down so long as we can find a launch site either at Lands End if they can make the weekend we will arrive home or a weekend later in April or early May in Truro.  The plan is that we use it to offer tethered flights in exchange for a donation to the kitty which would be split between G!I and the RNLI ............

What can I say - apart from 'Watch this space' and we will update it as soon as we have anything concrete to go on!  Perhaps it will coincide with our Aquathon that we are doing as part of our course and have to run an event before the end of the academic year.

Fingers crossed - and any offers of help in addition to those companies that we have already approached, would be gratefully received!  You can either use the form on our Contact Us page or email us directly train1savemany@rsct.org.uk should you so feel inclined!!
