Photo Gallery - Level 2

These are pix from Level 2 Bikeability courses
going back to the pilot in September 2006. Level 2 is run on road - beginning in a relatively quiet location and progressing to
somewhere that is quite busy at the end of the course, to ensure the children
develop a healthy respect for other road users, which is all part of their being
safe! Of course in the more remote areas, small villages and on Dartmoor,
one has to compromise and teach the children how to deal with their surroundings
as there are rarely the same type of junctions as one would find in towns.
Occasionally though, the weather intervenes .. we still have fun though even if
we are reduced to running a theory session! We also work with adults being
encouraged to cycle to work, who have no other means of getting from A to B.
Having a well deserved ice pop in the scorching heat having successfully and safely ridden the main road.
Another school with over half their pupils that have now had access to training!
Finally ... Jon has his own bike!!
Ooops! We always warn them about taking flying lessons., this is a classic example of how NOT to do an emergency stop, using ony one's front brake!!
Thankfully no harm done but a very valuable lesson has been learnt though!
Rain may have stopped us cycling but it wasn't about to dampen the spirits of the Y6s during their rehearsals
Letting off some steam when the rain finally stopped!
When the right side of the bike is the wrong side ..
Just one of many hazards we have to deal with in the more rural villages
And another ... almost as often as ordinary vehicles and delivery vans!!
Ice Pops break courtesy of the local Post Master! Thank you ..
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum aka Richard and Steve!! Thx 4 a great week ..
DAY 1 not to be outdone by Big Bro doing the course
And Big Bro is getting a new bike out of it too ...
Anything my brother can do ........
So can I and probably better ..
