GoRide or Track Coaches and/or (Sky/Breeze) Ride Leaders with British Cycling, MTB Instructors with CTC/OTC on Dartmoor,
provisionally accredited NSIs and/or NSITs being assessed for their full accreditation
and any activities or practical assessment(s) revolving around cycling at college/uni. Also clients who are - no, correction, were total novices ... having
then learned to ride solo, with time we then progress to doing ride outs either with Pedal
Back the Years or as part of 5 Miles to Fabulous and LEAPActive
....

I'd like to think those smiles say it all .. we came off the Hoe and went through Plymouth city centre - great training territory!!

2nd Year Coaching Practical
The back to front bike ... so the trainee instructors remember fear - they're too au fait with normal bikes after all!
Plymouth Uni graduation was also going on on the Hoe on this occasion, we all had to smile, my turn next year hopefully!!
If you look at the puddle, it was raining but C. was still not to be put off by either that or high winds coming straight off the sea!!
Practical coaching assessment at the end of first year
The group dynamics were fantastic & included 1x HE Student who is an Asst. Instructor Trainer plus 3x HE students all from Truro College!
If you turn the handle bar one way, the wheel goes the other .. to remind trainee instructors of fear, we introduce fear of the unknown!
First attempt through the cones having only gone solo a minute or two earlier!
A couple of minutes later again, now she has really has got the hang of it!
Less than an hour and two miles later .... it was almost surreal

As total novices tend to experience fear .. CE remind their instructors of fear themselves so their approach is empathetic to their clients.
Two wheel recumbents and uni cycles are very useful tool to remind instructors of a sense of fear .. of the unknown
